There are two types of Graduate Teaching Fellow employed by the Department of Mathematics: Instructional and Non-instructional. Almost all graduate students enrolled in the PhD or Master's programs within the Mathematics Department are hired as Instructional GTFs on a yearly basis, and teach one lower division undergraduate math class per term. See the New Applicants page for more information on how to apply to our graduate program and these positions.

Non-instructional GTFs are hired primarily from other graduate programs at the University of Oregon, and graduate students from across campus are encouraged to apply. We are currently accepting applications for these positions. Application review will begin on September 4, 2007 and continue until the positions are filled. See the following document for full details: PDF.

Department of Mathematics GTF appointments are at .49 FTE.
